No Water
Once again no water this morning, becoming a very frequent happening. Today is a water main break on Fairview St at 2:00AM and expected to take eight to ten hours to fix. Connellsville is like living in a third world country except for the prices we pay for utilities but don't get them. Casino Connellsville, take a turn and take a chance.!!!!!!!!

No water
Should add that yesterday the water was filthy first thing in the morning, no warning of work being done etc. Living here is a joke!

Mr2020
Hi Jack, Sorry it took me so long to get back to you, I had to sort through all those "mr2020"posts to find you. I agree, a WWW cam would be great to put up for the world to see The Good Stuff. Ligonier has one in their downtown. It is SLOW, but it's there. The 15425online site I started was inspired in part by that site, and that site really helps keep a productive focus and activity in that community. So why not here? Cams to show the world the beauty of the trail, and other parts of town? A community website with a number of focused authors (I am looking for more) who contribute to the site, and to the city? That's why I started 15425online Some really cool stuff, like the cable ride. There are HUGE GRANTS that come into this town, one right now is in play for somewhere close to $200,000 - much of it for BENCHES AND GARBAGE cans in downtown. If we got grants for interesting things, not just expensive water fountains and benches.... But it won't happen unless we start helping direct what's going on, participating, letting "the powers that be" know, dumb stuff that looks pretty doesn't cut it. Thanks Jack! Hope to meet you at the Connellsville Pizza Party some Friday night!

Thank all of those great democrat representatives and senators that you have elected for not bringing money back for the upkeep of the infrastructure. The water system in Connellsville is over 100 years old and I guarantee that you will continue to have broken pipes until all the pipes are replaced. It's common sense that if you replace a broken old pipe with a section of new, then it puts more stress on the older sections. Just look at Pittsburgh. We need to get rid of PA American water, because they are overpriced. Across the river in Dunbar Township, the people are paying 33% less for the same water. Why? Because PA American Water uses it's profits to pay off your politicians in office. We should be allowed to buy our water, cable, etc. from any company we want to like cell phones, home phones, electricity, and gas. Competition is what made America great and democrat politicians is what creates monopolies that kill the American working families.

A scenic zipline through Casparis would be cool, but would it generate enough interest to pay for its self and be profitable. Not sure. You would have to price it low enough to bring people in, but high enough to pay employees, upkeep, TAXES, and to make a profit. Another problem is that no private company would want to come in and lease land to put up something as permanent as a zipline course. There is a lot of work and money to put in a zipline course. It is more than just hanging cables. I have thought about partnering with a company that does nothing but ziplines, but every time I find land that would be suitable (easy access, good trees, etc) the owners don't want to sale. Most of these owners got the land for close to nothing or inherited it, so they want to make millions off of it, then they are the same ones who cry about Wal-Mart or Joe Hardy. Connellsville will never be even close to being as nice as it was, because people are greedy and jealous of each other.

I can get behind this type of business model. It suggests intelligence and energy. It will have a low impact on nature, even though that really does not matter. It also creates an avenue toward revenue, by creating a friendly character or persona for the area. A town like Connellsville could benefit from a resort type label. We don’t even have to erect one major attraction, because it is all local and advertisement anyway.. To be shallow for a moment, the new entertainment is Green entertainment, or at least the allusion of green. What’s greener then a River valley that has sat, basically untouched, for 30 odd years. Fix up what you can afford and offer unique qualities, the traffic is coming. Many of those who become wealthy dream, as we all do, of leisure’s reward.. They dream of scenic views, charming hospitality, and professional entertainment. They want friendly surroundings, high stakes yet safe adventures, history and the choice of anonymity. They pay for the pleasure of being treated special, again we all do. When they amass enough for their dreams, they try to bring those dreams to life. This area if refined properly could be a stop on their search for leisure. New adventures get the most attention. The city could prosper with its present size for the twelve months of the year, on 5 months consumer traffic. Only if it works with what it has, not what it had. The history is important, but only as a part. At first simplicity is the best angle. Provide the staples, food and lodging for their tired hungry bones, drink and cheer for their tired hungry souls…The empty spaces will fill as the demand for specialties show themselves. Why aim to increase the population, for revenues sake, when at this size the city has the tools to meet those needs and more. This area is up for grabs; again. Gambling & Gas is leading the way. We can live with it or without it, but we cannot stop it… Why not take advantage of it. Unique IP Code: 0fc616e5e69aedd

i dont know how it works there but here you can lease state land for real cheap and put up any structures you like as long as they are not permanent . land must be returned to natural appearance. i know a guy who leased acreage form state for about 50 bucks and acre . he used it for his small ultralights repair . also had a temporary building ,. also if you want to see a good zipline type in 'zipline' on you tube abd look for the one is south africa . supposed to be longest and fastest in the world . pretyy cool check it out . Yes, yes of course, you are correct James. We can’t ride soul-ly off entertainments skirt-tails. Connellsville's area is large, use the outskirts for your mass industry . That is the base alone with the smaller town employers, as like department stores, colleges, doctors construction etc. When the seasonal traffic comes, those monies are beyond the year round business owner’s basic income. As new business opens, they too bring their income to the area and that money goes right back into the community via self-improvement, general living ,local taxes and such. As the local Governing fund(s) increases so do the programs and then the town becomes self insured. We would not have to look under rocks and in slime for federal grants and welfare. I believe that if the education in this area is increased, a bright future will come of it. Without it, we will be talking about this, as a theory, forever. Unique IP Code: 0fc616e5e69aedd

I know ziplines. I zipped through the rain forests of Costa Rico and Antigua. Very nice. Nothing like a leap of faith from 600 ft in the air on nothing but a prayer and a very small piece of braided steel and ending up 600 ft across a gully. Ziplines are not easy to set up and the best and safest are permanent. I would love to set one up to go across the Yough, but could you imagine the BS red tape with the state and county zoning board. I don't have the political blow hard collateral to get that done. I will pitch my idea to some who does have the collateral and cash to get it done and who has already began a similar venture.
