There was a scam going around where people have accused an elderly person of hitting their cars in a public parking lot to collect on car insurance money. I know an elderly lady near Pittsburgh that this scam was pulled on. They so called "Victim" usually show up at the elderly persons house a few days later to intimidate them. Police were called .Report is filed and witnesses saw it.Just getting the word out to maybe make the peson who did this to come forward and take responsibility.Everything we taught our daughter about respect and doing the right thing pretty much means nothing to her when people act in this manner.You are right no one should be combing the streets for the criminal(which they became when they fled the scene) but people need to step up and help each other out. With the way gas ,food and prices of everything on the rise crime rate will soar and soar and people need to start helping each other out. We are not looking for a vigilante but a witness .Sorry for the way it sounded ,just trying to get justice.

To the person driving the mid sized black car (thought to be an elderly lady) please come to Wendy's in Connellsville. When you were backing out you side swiped my daughters red car that she had just received as a graduation present from her grandmother. You need to set a good example and take responsibility for your actions and pay for the damages to her car. A police report has been filed and people will be watching for you so do yourself a favor and do the right thing!

Well if 500000 MT of food does the trick, maybe this is designed to get them dependent on this program and then in the future we may be able to scale back our military presence over there. If we could bring home about 75% of our military we have had there since the 50's that will pay for the 500000 MT of food and then some. A more direct method would be to nuke them immediatly, no food required. And as far as that 500000 MT of food go's, based on what they eat over there we can empty every animal shelter in North America under this food program.

have to agree with that one . all the wars we start or jump into amazes me that the trluy dangerous countries never seem to be attacked or dealt with sterner methods . always with the diplomacy crap . didnt notice a lot of diplomacy when we invaded the oil lands twice now . i think we should do that with n korea and iran . or at least give them outright solid warnings of retaliation . no we always kiss their as s es .

My daughter is a very hardworking young lady and definitly not spoiled, my husband and I provide for her necessities but everything she wants beyond that she works at TWO jobs and pays for herself, to including her own CAR INSURANCE. She is only 17 and is already a very responsible upstanding member of this community and did not deserve to have some inconsiderate person ruin a gift that was given to her by her grandparents for all the hard work she has done all of her academic career. Thank you for your kind words. I know she will appreciate knowing their are still considerate people out there. PLease if anyone happens to see a mid sized balck car with minor to moderate damage to the front driver bumber/panel and possible read paint on it, let me know where it was seen please. I am hoping the person who has done this comes to Wendy's and makes amends for the damage, but I will not hold my breath since they left the scene and the damage that was done, there was no way that they did not know they did it. Have you ever had children that have played sports for a school team? Don't you think that builds character, knowing that they are good enough to represent the school???I guess you need to be a parent that has hauled their baby to and from practice ever since they were old enough to want to play, shelled out money for equipment needed year after year(sport after sport),sat watching from the sidelines every single game, wiped tears from your proud eyes at every season -end banquet as the childs name is called out,and wishing you could see them do it all just one more time. I do believe there are a few board members that are good people and will be more concerned about the well-being of our children, and will choose not to vote for this plan for selfish reasons. It may be necessary to look into other options, such as home schooling, cyber school, etc. But right now, lets stand together and fight for our children!! Just go to the meeting!!

The last I heard, South Side Schoole will be made into a good ole government free cheese distribution center, they can appoint Dexston to the supervisory board of it.

I have definate plans to attend the meeting. I also have a few questions. Rumors has it that that it is a done deal because Mongell has the votes. Is there anyway to stop the man? He supposed to be up there representing the tax payers and I believe we have spoken and this is NOT what we want. I have signed petitions and been to meetings and it appears he doesn't care. If there is anything I can do to help prevent the closing please let me know I will do whatever it takes. I have 3 children in one the schools they plan on closing. I have also looked into cyber school if they do close. Is there any way to wake up the rest of the board so they won't vote with Mongell?

Attention Parents and Taxpayers!!! Connellsville School Board is going to vote on Wednesday, May 21st at 7pm at the Jr. High East auditorium. (please note the change in location from previous meetings held at the Sr. high) They are to vote on the school reconfiguration. This means a 5th - 8th grade middle school. This means South Side, Connellsville Twp., and Dunbar Boro will be closing! It is said this needs to be done to avoid tax increases. Do we honestly beleive this???
