Gotta love a good storm.
Well what a weather worthily few days.
I can say it was a powerful set of storms we had, noting the damage I seen. Around Friday a small compact water maker pulled up in the evening hours, it dumped around 2 inches of rain. The storm, even though just a few hundred miles wide, took hours to cross the mountains. Something that was contrast to the Sundays storm that whipped pass at around 20 miles an hour. The Friday storm got the basements all wet I’m sure. You can surely tell it rained buckets just by looking at the river pier stones just 3 showing but Thursday there were 4 ˝. So I’d call that a lot. Around 3 pm Saturday the next storm pushed in a clear front giving us a break and it was beautiful for around 7 hours. Then early Sunday the second storm moved in. The first front dropped the temp and added rain to a wet landscape, with a small break the next front pushed in the winds that, if you didn’t know by now kicked the crap out of Connellsville. Some winds were clocked at 52 pm, with the South Side and most of Connellsville feeling the bulk of it. At my account the storm put out all traffic lights at one time or the other. With the electric going out in small spots a lot of people were confused, out walking to see the damage as it was happening. The two storms combine left the land extra wet as the wind brought down dozes of trees the most noted spots were big Maple trees up rooted on Crawford Avenue across from the Gabel high school. The broken trees ripped down power lines on Washington Street, Wills road, the library along with other small breaks all across the city. The police and auxiliary police were seen at almost every street in the city keeping up with the calls I bet. After it ‘s all said and done I hope no one was hurt, but I’m real sure there is going to be a lot of “handyman” workers need in the City next week. You should have seen the roofing flying around… SO is your insurance up to date??

I always looked forward to the dance on friday nights at the youth center on arch st. it is now Hagertys magistrate office if,Us kids did all our chores for the week and didnt get grounded wich was quite often,I and my 3 sisters were aloud to go.The bands were great "punch"started out there and are still playing today.Ijust loved them they played at my first two class reuion.After the dance we would all go down to the DOG HOUSE it was the first fast food place in cvill. I think faywest travel is there now.I wish there was a dance place here now for the kids.

you are right about that one mr moto. perhaps the number of hits to remove supposed abuse and real abuse is elevated that way if it is really abusive there would be enough of us to get rid of it . the way it is now you only need two cops and a couple politicians to get rid of something . make it higher

Well sir if it was a joke why was the post deleted? I for one am tired of all the people who hit the abuse feature on this site to censor others. There is a filter system in place here but these self righteous pigs take it upon themselves to censor others with the abuse feature. I have even noticed quite a few productive posts that were marked with abuse and then were deleted all because some a hole poster and their a hole friends didn't agree with what the poster was saying,and deleted the posts.

For the life of me, I dont remember ever having a choice in the matter. And in a public place indeed. Up at East I think the locker Dugan lined you up in front of was #158 if I remember correctly.
