I grew up in the same house out on Vanderbilt-Leisenring RD, until I left C'ville for the Army in '94 when I was 18. My wife's name is Monica (Layman). She grew up in Monarch and attended Geibel HS. I went to Dunbar Township Elem., Jr. High West, then on to CAHS. We love our home town and hope to settle down back there one day. God bless the Laurel Highlands. Dan Hodge and Family.

My family is from Connellsville. My father, Ray James Lunnen Jr. was born there in 1931. My mother was also born in Connellsville as Gloria Nabors of Sycamore Street. As a child I remember the many trips to visit all of my grandparents in the same town. Both of my grandfathers worked for the B&O Railroad. Grandfather Lunnen used to take my brothers and I to the railroad yards there.I have not been back since my grandmother's funeral years ago.My father's sister lives there now.

Any girls from the class of "53" we meet once a month and have lots of fun. Get in touch with me if you want to renew a good friendship. This month is at King of the Hill on Sept. 28 at 12 noon. We'd love to see our old classmates. We have so much fun ! There was 22 at one luncheon and it varies each month. Christmas will be at Cochran's House in Dawson and last year it was a most memorable time. And would you believe it none of us thought to take a camera ! Real bummer ! Get in touch if you're out there. It's so much fun talking about our old days at school and our friendships. Love to all Shirley

I'm not sure what happened to her, I know that John remarried a Louvara Reed and had Andy Newman, Louise Reppert and Nora Kidd. Nora was a teacher in Dunbar. Great site. I had forgotten the beauty of the C'ville area. I left in '85 to seek my fortune and in my many journies the memory of the town faded. Seeing the pictures, both old and new brought them all back. Now I am slightly homesick. Although my family only lived there six years, it was the longest we had ever stayed in one place and I made some pretty good friends. I plan to retrun to visit some sites, and show my daughter what snow REALLY looks like. I think I miss that most of all.

To the men and women of CAHS 70 Class reunion committee, I want to personally thank you for a GRAND job on our 30th reunion that was recently (August 19, 2000) held at Seven Springs Ski Resort. Bill Bittner, Joe Cellurale, John Huey, Karen Rose Brown, Don Whittaker, Marcia Garlick Whittaker, Roxanne Jacobs, Donna Gmutza Fox, Rhonda Lewellen Smally, and Diane Kowalczyk Pennline are to be commended for doing a superb job in getting us together. Old friendships were renewed and new friendships flourished. It's always a pleasure returning to my hometown to see old friends. I look forward to our 35th reunion in the year 2005. I also would like to thank the owners of The Newmyer House Bed & Breakfast, Harley & Sylvia Midcap, Innkeepers, for their gracious hospitality during our recent stay at the Newmyer House. They made us feel right at home, took care of our needs, and made us feel comfortable. I recommend this place to anyone who wishes to visit Connellsville. Hi Connellsville was born and raised in good ole C'ville right now I'm hanging my hat in Oklahoma after 20 years in the Army. Would love to hear from anyone that grew up with me in Gibson Terrace in the 50's also if you graduated from CJSHS 64-66 would like to hear from you. Anybody out there that enjoyed jumping from the third and second cable off the swinging bridge if you have been there you will know what thrills that bridge had also the dog and the old man chasing us off his lawn across from Snake rock. Remember when the streets was blocked from Brimstone corner down to Troutmans(you know the building with the ghosts hey that story made Paul Harvey). We would dance in the street and drink apple cider, how can we ever forget free movies at east park and the really nice ice skating rink, and the bonefires at east park thanks to those dried out Christmas trees what about those inner tube rides from Ohiopyle Pyle Falls down to the West Side pier. Currently the River Ralley is an up and coming thing so keep this web site jumping and if you care to stroll down memory lane give me a holler I got alot of family and friends in C'ville and when I can luck out and get a so so job I'm coming home to get in on the fun, later Tim and Carolyn (Jacobs)Graduated from CJSHS in 66 Hillen

Just doing geneological research and am pursuing every possible avenue. My father was Valentine Joseph Luczak born 23 Feb 1942 in Charleroi Pa. He passed away November 13 1996, at the age of only 54, of brain cancer. His mother was Catherine (Krystyniak) Luczak of Mt. Pleasant Pa. She also died of cancer in 1954. She was only 34. Her husband, my grandfather was Vincent Valentine Luczak-also of Mt. Pleasant Pa. also of cancer-in 1990. Vincent Valentine Luczak's father was John Luczak (middle name unknown). His wife was Alexandra (Alice) Luczak who died in 1984. This is as far back as I can trace because both their parents emigrated to the United States from Poland apparently before the turn of the century. If you have any further information or a tip or even want to point me in a possible direction, please E-mail me at: Thank-you, sincerely, Natalie Luczak Peeler

I'd like to share with you some details of the wonderful reunion that the Connellsville Class of 1975 had on Saturday August 26, 2000 at the Uniontown Holiday Inn. It was our 25th silver anniversary and I must say it is a reunion to be talked about for years to come. We had dinner reservations for 226 people, including our special guests of honor, Mr. and Mr. Anthony Carbonara of S. Connellsville and their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Don Carbonara. Their son and brother, Joe Carbonara was our class President and was lost from us tragically almost 20 years ago in a drowning accident. It was only fitting that Joe's parents be present at this special reunion to help us remember Joe and also to celebrate with us. The Holiday Inn treated us wonderfully, the food and service was superb and our DJ, Regis, did a nice job. We gave away money prizes all evening as the DJ asked "Class of 1975 trivia" all night. It was a real ice breaker. I would say the highlight of the evening was a very special announcement that took everyone by surprise. The ticket price for dinner was $25.00 per couple and $15.00 per single, not a bad deal. But, the committee and many other classmates did such a bang-up job of selling tickets and raising money for 5 years there was an excess of cash on hand. So, what better to do with it than give everyone their money back for the evening, and that we did!!!! Each couple was refunded $25 bucks and each single guest received $15.00. The first (we think) FREE REUNION in the history of CAHS. Everyone had a good time dancing, and eating and answering trivia and just plain socializing. Thanks for a job well done by a lot of people. See you in 5. Denise Chesko Smith

Thank you for the nice pictures and history on Connellsville. My mother, Ella Mae Leonard, grew up there. She moved to Akron Ohio as a young woman and married my father, Craig Wilson. Your pictures reminded me of our visits back to see my mother's mother, Martha Elizabeth Faust Leonard, who also grew up in Connellsville. Thank you .

Zach Connell Update: After seeing all those loyal Connellsville natives request information, I thought that I could be of some help. You see, Zach Connell is my ten year old son. Zach Connell broke his are 2 nights ago in a bicycle accident. He is now sitting out Pop Warner football and basketball for 8 weeks. Zach connell is in the 5th grade at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic grade school. He is blonde and is predicted to end up 6'10 to 7 feet tall. That's the latest info we have on Zach. (sorry, I couldn't resist)
